- Applicants in their last year of Master’s study may also submit an application form for the Doctoral Study programme. This fact shall be indicated in the application form.
- If an applicant has not been issued a Master’s degree diploma by the admission interview deadline, the applicant shall submit the diploma no later than by the deadline set by the Admission Board.
- Under the admission procedure, supervisors and doctoral thesis topics shall be assigned. The topics can be found on www.fsev.tnuni.sk under the “uchádzači” (applicants) section.
- During the interview, the Admission Board will examine the applicants‘ qualifications for study. The Admission Board shall evaluate the results of the admission interview in a closed session. If there is more than one candidate who chose the same topic, the Admission Board will create a rank order based on the admission interview performance. Multiple applicants may, however, research the same topic, unless the nature of the topic precludes this. When creating the rank order, the board shall also consider the number and quality of the applicant’s professional publications or artistic activity, and/or the results of other professional activities.
- Minutes on the outcome of the admission interview will be written. The Admission Board will submit a proposal for the admission of successful doctoral candidates to the Dean. Based on the Admissions Board’s proposal, the Dean shall make decision on admitting the applicants. The written decision on admission includes the information on the assignment of the doctoral thesis topic and the supervisor.
- The decision on the outcome of the admission procedure shall be made in writing within 30 days of verification of the fulfilment of the admission criteria and shall contain a statement, reasons, and an indication of the possibility of submitting a request for its review. The decision on admission/non-admission will be sent by registered mail.

- Admitted applicants become doctoral students on the enrolment date, which is set by the Dean.
- Applicants who completed a Master’s degree programme abroad must submit a document on the recognition of a completed higher-education study issued by a foreign institution of higher education. If an international treaty between the respective state and the Slovak Republic on mutual recognition and equivalence of educational documents is concluded, such document is not required (e.g. higher education diplomas issued in the Czech Republic are automatically considered equivalent).
- The selection procedure begins with the receipt of application forms. Applications are to be received by the deadline announced by the Faculty of Social and Economic Relations (FSEV). FSEV does not notify the applicants on the registration of their application. Applicants may check the registration of their application in the Academic Information System (AIS) based on the information published on www.fsev.tnuni.sk in the UCHÁDZAČI (APPLICANTS) section.
- Incomplete documents or annexes will not be subject to the selection procedure.
