Study in the Computer-assisted materials engineering bachelor study programme is carried out in a full-time form of study, within which the stu-dents can choose two specific educational approaches:
• Approach no. 1 is predominantly for students who have sufficient or satisfactory space and time to study during the working weekdays because they can attend classes, which are held from Monday to Friday by direct contact between the teacher and the student.
• Approach no. 2 stends for flexibility and it is suitable and convenient for students who, due to any other responsibilities (e.g.: employment, bad health condition, special family or social conditions), are not able to attend classes during common working days and specified time. The educa-tion process is based on block educational form as well as the part of the full-time form is replaced by distance form of education (online lectures in real time or through the educational presentations, videos, tutorials, etc., while the study resources can be found in predetermined cloud storage resources. The students have the opportunity to consult or discuss the stored materials with the pedagogue through the discussion fo-rums, individual consultations, etc. (The consultations are based on the student’s needs).
The graduate of Computer-assisted materials engineering study programme will obtain the needed important knowledge relating to computational modelling and materials simulation under the loading, resulting into the optimisation of design in terms of operational (in-service) loading. He/she has the basic knowledge in the area of production, testing methods of various materials, technological processing, selection as well as degradation, considering the main types of technical materials. The given graduate will acquire the skills and abilities in relation to the experimental evaluation of the mechanical materials properties and he/she will be able to operate with the various testing equipment and software. He/she can also work as a specialist in computational modelling and design for technical design offices (companies). Furthermore, the graduate will be completely educated to work in an industrial company in the area of production of technical materials, technological processing of specific materials into semi-finished products and final products. He/she will be also able to work in the field of quality control, purchase and sale of materials. Based on the mentioned facts, the given graduate will be able to carry out and analyse experiments independently and it means, he/she can also be employed as a researcher in chemical and material laboratories or he/she can continue in his/her engineering study at Faculty of Industrial Technologies in Puchov.
The study programme is intended not only for students who have sufficient space to study on weekdays and can attend classes organized from Monday to Friday by direct contact between the teacher and the student, but is also suitable for students who, with regard to other responsibilities (e.g. employment, difficult health, family or social conditions) cannot attend classes on weekdays and for them, block teaching is realized.
